Noble's AbilityOne Industry Events facilitate networking opportunities with nonprofit companies that produce products under the AbilityOne Program. Each participating company is invited to present an overview of their production capabilities and demonstrate product samples to buyers, program managers, inside sales, customer service, and other government commerce professionals at Noble. Chrissy McStowe and Nick Liolios, members of Noble's Government Commerce Division, organized this year's event, held on February 19-20, 2020, at Noble's Boston Seaport headquarters in Massachusetts.
The AbilityOne® Program is the largest source of employment for people who are blind or have other severe disabilities in the United States. It coordinates participation with over 550 nonprofit agencies (NPAs) throughout the U.S. and represents nearly $3 billion in products and services purchased by the federal government at fair market prices.
As a function of our global supply chain management activities, Noble offers products produced under the AbilityOne Program through our contract vehicles to various government buyers within U.S. Federal Agencies, the Department of Defense, state and local governments, and we also provide global distribution for them.
Tom Noble, CEO, gave a brief introduction on day one of the event. He spoke about the coming changes to government procurement and promised to navigate them together with Noble’s AbilityOne suppliers. “Our plan is to be there every step of the way, but, more importantly, to be there with all of you, making sure that we are partnering in the right way, and using things we’ve learned from our contracts in different parts of the world (whether GSA, DLA, or directly with different agencies) to leverage the relationships we have to create something that is beneficial to everyone,” Tom stated.
