Noble Recognized for Mission Support Services at JB Charleston
Noble's retail stores at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, support the multi-service missions of military and civil personnel at the Air Base and the Naval Weapons Station. The stores provide access for civil engineers of the 628th CES to purchase materials and equipment used in work orders, construction, and recurring maintenance and repair.
Noble operates two Contractor Operated Civil Engineer Supply Stores (COCESS) under contract with the 628th Contracting Squadron, within warehouse space provided by JB Charleston.
Exceptional Review for Noble's JB Charleston AFB COCESS
Noble achieved a top rating of "Exceptional" across four key areas of contract performance in a quarterly report (1 Oct 2019 through 31 Dec 2019) issued last week by Brandy Stroud, Contract Specialist with the 628th Contacting Squadron/PKA.

Lee Weatherford, Noble's V.P. of Mission Support, commended the performance of Noble's JB Charleston store staff, Chris Power, Store Manager, Donald Mekeel, Inventory Purchasing Coordinator; Liz Cruz, Inventory Purchasing Coordinator; and Emil Popelka, Warehouse Material Coordinator, for their outstanding performance.

We are only successful when our customers achieve mission success," stated Lee.
JB Charleston
Joint Base Charleston is one of twelve Department of Defense Joint Bases and is the host to over 60 DOD and Federal agencies. The 628th Air Base Wing provides installation support to a force of over 90,000 Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and civilians at four installations, including the Air Base and the Naval Weapons Station.
Activities of the 628th CES
The 628th Civil Engineer Squadron is responsible for directing the design, construction, maintenance, and repair activities on the base facility and infrastructure systems.
- They plan, build, maintain, and repair base facilities and utility systems to support the 628th Air Base Wing and the multi-service missions of Joint Base Charleston.
- They deploy worldwide in support of expeditionary wartime and peacetime requirements
- They provide fire protection, environmental management, explosive ordnance disposal, and military housing services
- They prepare for and respond to peacetime natural and humanmade disasters.
628th Contracting Squadron
The 628th Contracting Squadron supports all DoD personnel in the 628th Air Base Wing, 437th Airlift Wing, 315th Airlift Wing, and more than 60 mission partners. They prepare, award, and administer contracts for construction, supplies, and services.
